550D really is a great case not sure why it's not more popular. I guess people don't like the look.

I prefer 550D over R3 in terms of looks for sure, but some of the reviews I've read state that 550D falls behind R3 in terms of cooling. I have a GTX580 (Gigabyte Windforce) that will be going into a new case, and while swapping its cooler to Antec Kuhler 620 is a consideration, I'd like to make sure I won't be running at 80C in that case with the stock cooling (it runs at 66C or so in games now in the Antec 902).

I really like the case so far. Coming from a Haf922 case.

Edit: I owned a Fractal R3 Define and personally I like the 550D much more. My temperatures are better and the noise dampening "seems" (I have no way to measure) better as well. Not to mention the rubber grommets in the 550D don't fall out when you breath on them =). Really drove me nuts when I was running my cables in the R3 haha.

I had a windforce 670 in this case and temps were excellent. High 50's at load. But I do run with the vents open. With all of them on temps were not good. Especially on the cpu with an H100 up top. Which is fairly obvious I guess.

Hm, I wonder if I just took off the sound-insulating foam off the left door and left the rest in (like the top cover), if my temperatures would be decent.

Also, need some good sales on this case =/ The cheapest I can find it is $120 off NCIX at the moment, which is not much of a discount.

$120 isn't bad. Your probably going to wait a while if your hoping to get it for $100 or something like that.

Two places where noise escapes are bottom and rear opening.

I had a 200mm fan laying around. I just added it to my side panel to see how it would do. I can't hear it. It surprisingly pulls in air still even with the side panel closed. Now I have extremely positive airflow. Cpu temp dropped 5c. I can't say if it dropped gpu temps because I added a second 6950.

Hey everyone what are your fan set-ups? I have two Noctua NF-P12 as the intakes, a stock fan the case came with as the intake next to the PSU, and my two corsair SP-120 fans for my exhaust on my H80.
