I have the gigabyte ga ax 370 gaming k5 motherboard I have bios version f31 was going to update to f40 and get a 3800x to replace my 1700x but the @BIOS app in windows crashed then the pc turned off and I can kind of get into the bios and if I try and boot into windows the whole pc shuts off...any ideas? I can mess around in the bios and stuff it's all set to default and I've pulled the cmos battery out as well and reinserted it...

that's why you don't flash the BIOS in Windows, lol.

if your BIOS EEPROM is socketed, buy a replacement on eBay for ~$10 (I've used biosdepot and bios_store) and swap in a new EEPROM.

if it's not socketed, spend the money on a programmer and alligator clips or RMA the board.
