Switch hyper threading off in bios

I heard about vulnerabilities with Intel hyper threading and decided to switch it off for now. With my P8P67 M Pro board and 2600k it was no problem.

However, I have 2 laptops with hyper threading dual core i3's, and neither of them have an option in the bios to switch HT off.

Anyone know is there a way to switch it off in windows? Is there any real need to switch it off, or I'm being paranoid?

Thanks

Link to both BIOS and I can help you disable, if you get answers to confirm your fears (never heard of such a thing, and doubt whatever the security issue is that it's actually related to HT)

I'd imagine a dual core running without hyperthreading would kill perf. dramatically.

^^ Not sure how you can recommend against enabling the only known defence against a proven flaw. Same people that don't install updates I guess. What's "impossible" today will be trivial tomorrow and considering the competition confirmed they're immune, rest assured Intel platforms are already being targeted

If a whole industry is moving away from Intel because of the 30+ flaws found over the past few years, everyone should take notice.

Hyperthreading is only mentioned once in that entire article, and it only says that increases the ease of exploit (so without HT, once exploit is applied to a system, the same code executions still happen, only one fake HT thread slower)

Might as well disable prefetching etc. too.

Paranoid indeed.

Either in UEFI/BIOS or maybe xtreme tuning utility from Intel could disable HT, not sure.
