No update. Will look into this sometime this week, however due to other projects, this may be put on hold until these are cleared. Sorry.

Any update on this? nearly a year later. VS spent money buying the URLS and isn't even using them

This doesn't involve the site's coding, it is literally just the domain.

Ah, but did VS buy folding.net? Also pay attention to the date the registration expires:

I just checked the rest of the domains that were mentioned earlier on in this thread. Just about all in the first batch will expire relatively soon (starting in December), and most in the second batch have expired and are up for grabs (for sale). That's SOP for registrars when domain owners don't renew their registrations.

If they didn't buy the URLs it's just as bad since it's linking to nonexistent pages.

Yeah, but like E implied, that's (the broken links where they exist today) really a VS problem that he himself has little control over.

I was only pointing out the facts about the domains in question and the eventual possibility that all control will be lost over all of them if their registrations aren't renewed by their current owners, which is not VS.

No update on this and frankly, there is not going to be one. I played my part in repeatedly chasing this one with VS and nothing came from it. Plus it is also a moot point now with the migration (When it happens next year sometime), none of these links will be showing on the site any longer once we migrate.

Do you know what platform it is migrating to? Xenforo (judging by VerticalScope's other acquisitions not on VBulletin 3)?

edit: I did some scouting around in August https://www.overclock.net/forum/28091016-post7.html

I can neither confirm nor deny that it is Xenforo. Take from that what you will
