Reproducibility: No, only affects some systems

Repro Steps:
1) Open OCN
2) Attempt to browse
3) Browser locks up and/or crashes entirely

Expected: Site to load

Systems info (all could run OCN prior to Huddler swap):
a) Windows 7 x64 HP SP1, Firefox 11.0, Adblock Plus and Ghostery (both allowing all on OCN domain) on an AMD 1090T - Site very slow, occasional lockups
b) Windows 7 x64 HP SP1, Firefox 11.0, Adblock Plus and Ghostery (both allowing all on OCN domain) on an Intel C2D T7700 - Site cripplingly slow, browser dies occasionally
c) Windows XP Home SP3, Firefox 11.0, Adblock Plus and Ghostery (both allowing all on OCN domain) on an AMD XP-M 3200+ - Site never loads
d) Wii Browser - Site never loads
e) PS3 Browser - Site never loads
f) PSP Browser - Site never loads

This isn't something I can report, as is, because site performance seems to differ wildly from person to person.  I can say that Wii, PSP and PS3 are simply not supported and it's not designed to work on them, nor tested on it.  That might be something that the mobile site will be useful for when it launches, but the main site will probably never work on those platforms.

Ghostery has been known to cause problems though, I'd try removing that and see if it makes any difference.  It does not always matter that you set a 3rd party plugin to "allow", unfortunately.  And see if the same issues happen on Chrome.  On Win7 x64 with FF and Chrome but no plugins, I'm able to browse the site pretty snappily.  Try it with a bare browser without modifications.

Ghostery is disabled on OCN. It just shows what scripts are running and doesn't block any.

Very hard to confirm this, thanks for letting us know, though it will be hard to completely fix the issues you state as they are so sporadic, I have a Pentium 4 system that deals with OCN completely fine, infact all my systems are fine with OCN and I access OCN from a fair variety of systems with no issue, so the problem is hard to pinpoint.

As for Console browsers, Console browsers should not really be used to test a website as for the most part they are slow and out of date and a lot of the time do not have support for various plug ins and scripts, that and a console like the Wii has such a poor memory..it is a hardware limitation.

And yet, they worked with vB OCN. As has been said, maybe the mobile site will fix them. (I know when I access Gmail on my PS3, it drops to the HTML-only page.)

It's disappointing that it appears I'll need to use the mobile site on my laptops...

Granted and trust me, I know smile.gif but finding what ever it is that kills a select few syste comfigurations is going to be very hard, so until we find what it is, we will have to work on what we KNOW we can fix, it sucks I completely understand but we will do our best to make this site as efficient as it can be on as many different system configs as possible smile.gif

My current sig rig handles OCN no better than my 2600k rig handles it, it's very puzzling how some individuals are still having issues with the platform and its speed. Is it possible it's ISP related more-so than it is system specification related?

I agree with it possibly being ISP related. It most likely from OCN vast amount of pictures, number of posts on a page, and amount of users online.

Nope! OCN is quite snappy on my sandybridge than my netbook.

It may be something netbook / laptop related then, but I'm having a difficult time in trying to understand what could be the key issue. My current sig rig isn't much better than any modern netbook / laptop out there, in fact, it's probably worse with the IDE HDD.
