I was really hoping that switching the stock WYSIWYG editor with CKEditor was going to work. This doesn't seem to be a tenable solution. I can get it installed and "working" but not well enough to publish. It is too big of a disconnect of the two systems to make CKE viable in a vB 3.8 environment. The visuals inside of the editor are in some cases completely different from what will be seen in the post (or preview).

So, I must look at different ways to fix the spacing issue. As of writing this post, I am unable to reproduce all of the issues being reported here. In fact, what I am seeing almost seems opposite. I am getting some CRLFs removed instead of added. Can someone please provide a simple step by step replication procedure for me? What browser with what plugins and in what configuration.

I still get the spacing issue all the time, running FF + noscript + uBlock + Decentraleyes + HTTPS everywhere in enforcing mode. I am also completely blocking canvas drawing due to the fingerprinting protection I employ.

I only allow scripts from the first party domain overclock.net and allow .js from ajax.googleapis.com which gets captured by Decentraleyes which then serves me a locally hosted version of the library.

If I had to place my bets, the users experiencing the spacing problems are probably blocking scripts from this site. With my config above the site is 99% usable, only major problem seems to be the spacing issue when posting.

I no longer seem to have the issue with the spacing, I only run adblock. It could be a particular browser add in causing the issue somewhere along the line. If we cannot replicate soon, I will mark this down as a user end issue.

But you were able to replicate it last year. If it's extension related, is there any difference in your setup this year? Did you uninstall any extension you were using last year?

No changes to the extensions. Browser updates yes, there have been changes on the site since this time that may have an effect. Not sure, but ultimately cannot replicate at this point in time, neither can BFRD.

Using firefox 65.0.2 (64-bit) and no active extensions my post above added several spaces. Method: quote a post typed TEST<enter><enter>TEST<enter><enter><enter>TEST<en ter><enter><enter><enter>TEST

edit: i see a version 66 is available so I'll retest. Quote wasn't required in above method and i don't know why it keeps adding a space in that one <enter>
edit4: retesting doing 1,2,3,4<enter>
