$50 Gaming Headset Recommendations

You guys came through clutch on the monitor recommendations!

Here's what I'm looking for:

Mic decent enough that my team can hear me.
I don't need noise cancellation or anything like that... I live alone.
Just comfortable for some marathon sessions and decent enough sound.
I'm not going to use it for music, just FPS and the like.

Thanks!

you'd get a significantly better end result if you go for a separate mic and pair of headphones, fwiw

Monoprice Modern Retro + Sunhua/Soonhua SF-666 (or similar) = ~$40 depending on the price of the Retros, they fluctuate between $20 and $30.

the mic gets sold under a bunch of different names, but they're all the same thing, ex:

example 1

example 2

it's the mic I've been using (specifically a "Sunhua SF-666") for a long time and I've got no complaints.

Go for a Zalman ZM-Mic1 and then use the remaining budget for a nice second hand pair of Sennheiser HD-558's, or HD-598's. By far one of the best setups you'll find around the $50 price point.

There usually always some version of the HyperX Cloud (Original/Core/Alpha(S)/II/Revolver) sub $50, and they're all decent. Prices do seem a bit weird in the US right now, might be because of the pandemic.

SHP-9500 and a v-moda mic

10 times better than any gaming headset in the price range + the vmoda mic will connect to the SHP-9500 and will make it a single cable solution.

It's been awhile since I checked the prices but I remember finding it for 40$ around a couple of months ago and the vmoda for 25 which is still kinda out of budget but still worth every dollar.

But now its 70$ holly with the mic that is 100$, damn sorry about that

$49.99 has great sound, packs way above its price on sound and mic quality. also very comfortable, I own this, and am pleasantly surprised how well it competes with higher end stuff. I'm not a fan of the Hyperx Cloud or Revolution though, but the Stinger is a great budget one, plus its brand new. cheers
