USB Sound card for PC or PCI

Im gonna make this short.

I have a option to choose between USB HyperX Cloud 7.1 Sound Card or ASUS Xonar DG PCI

My aim is to get rid of the microphone noises as my ALC887 on motherboard is really bad.

Im using Cloud headset.

I know its 2020 and these two are pretty old, i dont care that much about sound i only want a better mic quality. I know cloud headset mic isnt great also but which one would give me slightly better quality?

Q: Does this card and software supported by Windows 10
A: Card worked great with windows 7 32 bit, windows 10 32 bit. Will NOT WORK at all with 64 bit.

if you're running a 64-bit operating system then I think you have your answer.

Xonar DG does support 64bit Windows 10, anyone who posted that garbage in Amazon was clearly trolling.

But that doesn't means it's worth getting as the driver support by the OEM (C-media) was dropped in 2016. Which means any Windows update can brick the card's drivers and there is absolutely nothing that you can do about it.
Unixonar drivers are recommended if you get the card. The Asus drivers are outdated.

Ppl should learn to add more info to their posts when they ask for help...

I wouldn't get old Xonar cards if running an up-to-date Windows 10. Even the Uni drivers gave me problems with my cards (DX and DG). At the end I decided to just go with the onboard sound.
In OP's situation I would just stay with the USB dongle from the Cloud headset.

PCI Express card or USB, do not go for PCI nowadays, unless for some retro projects. Grab AIM SC808 from ebay (these are new units) or get Audiotrak Prodigy Cube Black or some other USB, affordable card.

Assuming that the input of your headphones is a standard 3.2mm stereo connector, you may want to look into a USB DAC such as the Audioquest Dragonfly series. I use a Dragonfly Red for my 2.1 sound system at home and have been very happy with it. Since I bought my Red, Audio Quest has come out with a Dragonfly Cobalt that is supposed to be even better than the Red. The Dragonflys do not require a driver, are controlled by existing software on the computer, and are compatible with any OS (I've used my Red with Win 7 and currently use it with Linux Mint).
