Hi,

I'm planning to use the Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 for my next build and I wanted to know if it was easy to remove the heat spreader and if it has memory chips on both side of the stick? I'll be watercooling the memory with the universal Bitspower memory kit.

Thank you!

Upgraded to a 32 GB kit, couldn't resist a Black Friday deal that had it way discounted. Any suggestions on a new CPU cooler that will not interfere with the RAM heat spreaders, @Corsair Joseph? I'm considering a H100i but I have concerns it will overhang the RAM from the top of the case (400R) and cause the same problem.

Hey Rikk,
With the H100i mounted on top of a 400R, I don't think that its going to be an issue at all in terms of RAM clearance. There is enough space there between the cooler's rad/fan and the board's DIMM slot area. You should be fine smile.gif

Just to give you an idea on how much room you have up there, 400R

I noticed the 110i GT/GTX are not listed on the compatibility for the 400R, will they possibly be too large? I'm keeping my eye open for boxing day deals on both to finally have all my RAM installed at once.

Hey guys i was wondering about my OC. I got this kit: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Channel-240-Pin-CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9/dp/B004E0ZKLQ

And from 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 2T @1.5v i am running it at 2133mhz 11-11-11-28 2T @1.65v. It seems to be really stable so far but i am going to run memtest to check for errors just to be safe.

Should i be worried about anything else? It's my first time trying out mem overclock and that's why i am asking about it biggrin.gif

1.65V is safe. Your IMC/VCCSA voltage? What ICs the memory have? Is it Hynix or Elpida? 2133 quite good IMO.

Where can i check if it is Elpida or Hynix? IMC/VCCSA voltage is the default, i didn't change it. I just ran a memtest and got 0 errors.

Nevermind i found it.

I got 2x 5.20 and 2x 8.16

So that's Hynix(512Mx8) and Nanya(256Mx8)?

In AIDA64 i get 30k mb/s read, 32.5k mb/s write, 29k mb/s copy and 59ns latency with that setup.
