I stopped buying top shelf memory after retiring my X79 to 1080p grunt work.
Why? Cuz even the cheepest DDR4 kits play nicer than trying to get 32gb stable on high OC 3930k.
I just bought some top shelf Corsair RGB memory. Looks sick 4x8gb cas 14 3200mhz quad channel setup. After putting it in to a 6850k x99 system the board crashed into an endless loop and wouldnt post almost until a cmos reset. Trying to set manual timings still failed into another endless post reboot cycle. Got lucky though with XMP to the rescue and works now but I got another 32gb of HyperX 2800mhz c14 ram now for sale on ebay. Anyhow the ram looks so cool I think sometimes you have to spend on quality if only Corsair hadnt gouged the price spread.
Gigabyte Auros Master Z390 - 9900K @ 5.0ghz (3.22v)
G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB 2 x 8GB 3200mhz XMP
EVGA 1080 FTW2 in SLI - Corsair H1200i PSU
Heatkiller IV Cpu Block - 240 + 360 Rads
Yeah I'm not a fan of corsair memory anymore g-skill all the way
Trident-z 3200C14 working on x99 rig pretty well for 1.5 years now although I don't use xmp profile.
I keep the CD 2666C15 just as spare for x99 Murphy's law and all
It actually does winsat mem faster than my 3600C16 which is also b-die :/
