What is better for 9900K OC 1x6GB or 2x16GB

as the title said I was trying to OC my 9900K and I couldn't get it more than 4.9Ghz stable, in the mean time I was suspecting ram issues but it passes memtest, anyway I'm also going to add more ram so do I buy a 2x16 rams or add another 1x16GB

You should be always running dual channel no matter how much capacity you have , outside of troubleshooting purposes.

You can see up to 25% drop in CPU performance by running a single stick vs two.
Going to three sticks may drop performance again a little and 4 will perform very close to two except it ma limit your max stable OC especially if you are using a cheap diasychian MB

Do never run single channel on rams. It's absolutely preferent that you get a 4x8gb single side kits to better oc, since dual sided ones are harder to OC but you can put more amount of ram on your system.

Hi,
Title is off 1x6gb ?

Either way single channel gskill set record using single channel but who really cares about single channel

Never mix memory if you have a 2x16gb kit then all is okay
16gb stick oc'ing is iffy at best without a lot of tuning because 16gb sticks do not oc as well as 8gb sticks do

It's alwas better to do dual channel. You might see a significant change in fps in the more demanding gamessuch as AC Oddysey.

I don't think that it matters wheather you have a different brand of the RAM as long as it's the same efficiency for example: 16 GB 3000 Mhz and 16 GB 3000 Mhz.

Though before you insert the RAM check closely wheather your motherboard supports such frequency.
