DIMM interleaving: do Intel and AMD do it?

According to this PDF: http://web.cse.ohio-state.edu/~zhang...terleaving.pdf

Sun blade UltraSPARC III CPU's are capable of doing DIMM interleaving (as opposed to bank/rank interleaving). Can Intel/AMD CPU's do DIMM interleaving (i.e. among multiple DIMM's per channel)?

The PDF also discusses something called XOR interleaving, an "...interleaving mode is used to distribute L2 cache conflictmisses and L2 cache read/writeback pairs across more banks."
which I've never even heard of.
