Vengeance Pro RGB safe temps?

So I was playing some Star Citizen today and the game crashed, then I realised all my LED's turned red which I had setup when my RAM get's to 80c.

Voltages is 1.4V DRAM, 0.9976 VDDP, and 1.0477 VDDG

What's the safe temps for DDR4?

Are you sure you're using a correct reading? Highly doubt you can heat up your RAM to even 70C on everyday OC.

Anything above 40c can produce errors, causing file corruption.

My RAM @ 4000MHZ 1.38v runs at 33c (gaming) and 38c (GSAT). Ambient 25c.

Quite. The 80c report was made by iCue itself and HWInfo concurs.

EDIT: Might I also add that Ambient temps in the room is 30c and temp probe I've placed inside the case is reporting 32c and the memory are sitting idle at about 68c tops.

Can you turn the RGB off and read temps again?

G.Skill told me 70c when I asked max safe temp but I was asking specifically about B-Die (20nm).

RAM gets more sensitive to temperature the closer to their silicon limit they are. If you're running XMP or a not too aggressive OC you're likely going to be stable well into the 70s but if you're running aggressive timings you'll get issues sooner.

being unstable isn't going to damage your RAM though, so unstable at 70c or 40c or 0c or -200c is still "safe" lol.

God, this 760T is so ugly it needs a bag to look at...

Anyway, if you remove the top plastic cover airflow should not be obstructed and I can't see any reason why it would heat up this much. Maybe put some 120/140mm fan on the case fan spot above your memory sticks to blow some air on them? Below 70C should be completely safe for that kit, not that I'm an expert though. I won't believe you run more than 1.5V DRAM Voltage either.

As Pook said, unstable memory can't hurt your RAM. But it will hurt your OS, eventually.

760T actually looks pretty... Well compared to the Obsidian 750D IMO.

I never ran the top cover on a regular basis, only when my birds are out as their toes might get in there and hurt them.

The radiator for the H100i is already up there doing pull exhausting out. I'm also only running 1.4V
