Yes, they are full coverage but definitely get a backplate as well. thumb.gif

If you want to go all out replace the stock thermal pads with:

Nooo, be careful though. The SC black edition has a reference pcb, however it has a dvi connector whereas the ref doesn't. Per ek compat list, the reference 1080ti block will not fit these. You have to use the Titan X pascal block though.

Good catch! Rep +1

Oh shoot, are you sure? The EK-MLC configurator gives both the Titan X and 1080 TI blocks as compatible. Apparently the Titan X blocks are EOL though, as I couldn't add it to my cart.

Yep, that one too (it's the regular GTX 1080 block, not the Ti specific one, since it has the space for the DVI connector.) The ones not compatible are the Ti FE specific blocks.

Yes, 100% sure. Per Kedarwolfes last post, it's the Titan x Pascal and 1080 FE blocks the compatibles ones. You're just getting confused as you're thinking the *Ti* Fe blocks are the ones compatible, they're not (at Ti Fe doesn't have the DVI connector). It's the regular 1080 Fe (note the lack of Ti here).

Yes, that is what I've been saying, those are good.

Ok lets clear it a little bit more. Those FE ones you're pointing out are generic ones that will fit FE (1080, 1080 ti, 1070 etc etc) and are fine, kind of one glove fit all.

The ones that don't fit are the Ti specific ones, like this one: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc-1080-gtx-ti-nickel , thats is what I was trying to clarify to him as he pointed the "Ti" should be good too. Those will only fit the FE designs without a DVI connector. The SC black is FE board, however has a DVI connector. Just my 2 cents, with so many variations we gotta be careful lol.

So, is it not recommended to mix a predator prefilled block with one of these MLC modules? Reason I ask is the difference in the coolant? Or will it be ok??

Need to drain the Predator gpu block, flush and refill with the newer cryo fule coolant. thumb.gif

Yes, the 1080 Ti FE version will not work with a 1080 TI SC Black. You need the Pascal Titan X or the regular GTX FE version.

I'd go with the Pascal Titan X myself.
