Hello everyone. Do you think that I can use liquid metal with a new water block or not?

2080ti GPU block compatible list

Unfortunately someone from EVGA was only able to tell me he thought they "should" fit but couldn't guarantee. Nobody can and I don't know if I want to be a guinea pig. EK did say they'd be updating their compatibility list as they found out which other cards their initial blocks might fit but I already pre-ordered an Alphacool block so I'm probably not even going with EK. Then you figure if EK's block fits the EVGA, then Alphacool's would too?

Anyway my options are either take a chance and try putting a block on my XC, wait to see if someone can verify that Alphacool/EK block fits or, if I can't get verification, just wait until my FE arrives beginning of Oct. and part with the EVGA.

Would love to be up and running on 9/21 when the EVGA is being delivered. I guess stripping it just to see if the block fits isn't a huge deal - not like I haven't blocked a card before - but it's kind of a pain. Plus I'd much rather sell the card unopened and untouched.

We'll see what happens. I have a feeling if I can't get 100% confirmation by the time the EVGA gets here, I will simply be too curious/impatient to not give it a try. If it works I'll have that bad boy on water that Friday night with an entire weekend to bench and start playing games on it.

In a newer post on the EVGA Forum Jacob has allready confirmed that the XC Cards use ref PCB, even if you use the ekwb configurator it will tell you the it works

@arcDaniel

If you look at the compatibility list, it doesn't say EK has "tested" it themselves however. They've only "confirmed" it themselves visually:

https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/wa.../3831109810477

However, odds are there are no issues at all, as Jacob said it's the ref. pcb. Personally i wouldn't order anything that isn't 100% confirmed, on both sides.

You can but I don't know anyone who recommends it. It's not worth the potential risk. LM on a processor is as far as I'll go.

Still waiting to hear if the MSI Duke is compatible as it's not listed, and AFAIK it uses the reference PCB.

Yes it's reference. Someone on another forum posted this comparison.

Dimensions of the Duke are quite a bit different but I can't vouch 100% for the info here.

Yes.

I got my shipping confirmation at 2:58am Eastern time (US). I think I also ordered pretty soon after they went up.

What's crazy to me is the estimated delivery is showing by end of Monday. That almost doesn't sound right coming all the way to the U.S. I did get one of the expedited UPS shipping options but it wasn't the most expensive/fastest one.

Only annoying thing now is I just got a notice from Amazon about my EVGA XC being delayed. Was supposed to get it today. Damn.
