2080ti GPU block compatible list

Hi,

Will the first block be compatible with founders edition only? and if not are any other cards planned already to get a block? I cant order a FE in Switzerland for some reason its DE and at only and my swiss billing adress doesnt work.

Presumably the blocks are for reference but there's still no clarification to that or which of the 3rd party cards, if any, use the reference PCB. I asked EK once last night on Twitter in their post about the blocks. They then posted today with a sneak peek of the block but again not much information and I've posed the same question to them there.

FYI: here's the post with the peek of the block which looks like it'll feature illumination

Can someone from EK chime in? Will your 2080Ti blocks fit the 3rd party launch cards or are they strictly for FE?

Tweeted you guys, sent an email, asked here - no response.

Typically the block manufactures will only have Nvidia reference design PCB blocks available at launch.

AIBs will only have reference PCB card designs at launch and their custom PCB designs will come shortly after launch.

Block manufactures cannot design blocks for the custom PCBs until they can get a hold of one from the AIBs so they will typically come later after initial launch.

Since the launch of the RTX2080 and RTX2080ti is a paper launch and the cards will not ship until the 20th of September, no one but the AIBs and block manufactures have reference cards from Nvidia to make their products from. Also, they are all under strict NDA from Nvidia until the 20th of September.

I am sure you will see blocks for the more popular AIB custom designs within a month or so from hard launch (ship date 20th September).

Right and based on this I'm under the assumption that the initial blocks by Alphacool and EK will fit the AIB cards coming 9/20 like my EVGA XC. Unfortunately someone from EVGA was only able to tell me he thought they "should" fit but couldn't guarantee. Nobody can and I don't know if I want to be a guinea pig. EK did say they'd be updating their compatibility list as they found out which other cards their initial blocks might fit but I already pre-ordered an Alphacool block so I'm probably not even going with EK. Then you figure if EK's block fits the EVGA, then Alphacool's would too?

Anyway my options are either take a chance and try putting a block on my XC, wait to see if someone can verify that Alphacool/EK block fits or, if I can't get verification, just wait until my FE arrives beginning of Oct. and part with the EVGA.

Would love to be up and running on 9/21 when the EVGA is being delivered. I guess stripping it just to see if the block fits isn't a huge deal - not like I haven't blocked a card before - but it's kind of a pain. Plus I'd much rather sell the card unopened and untouched.

We'll see what happens. I have a feeling if I can't get 100% confirmation by the time the EVGA gets here, I will simply be too curious/impatient to not give it a try. If it works I'll have that bad boy on water that Friday night with an entire weekend to bench and start playing games on it.

They were already announced right after the cards were.

And today EK posted this:

https://twitter.com/EKWaterBlocks/st...67667399925761

You can see it includes hashtags for 2080Ti, 2080 and 2070. Pre-orders are going up soon.

Thanks for the tip. I eventually got a response via email (which said their initial blocks can only be guaranteed for Founder's Edition but they'll update their compatibility list as they figure out which AIB launch cards can use it, if any).

Anyway I ended up pre-ordering the Alphacool full-cover block so I'm not sure I care what EK is doing at this point but also interested to see Heatkiller's option; can't find a word about it anywhere though.
