MSI RTX 2080Ti Sea Hawk EK High temps.

I have a problem with high temps on my MSI RTX 2080Ti Sea Hawk EK (MSI card with pre-instaled EKWB watreblock on GPU). I have install all in new loop, with SE 280mm radiator and D5 pomp. Whole build with Polish comment you can find on yt:

Whole loop was connect outside of case, all parts was move around and "shaked", additional pipe for air to go out on top of res.
After 30 secend on Furemark I have 78 C on GPU. Radiator is going a little hot after 5 min, but with this temps on GPU it should be fire on Radiator.
Pump is going on max, is not connected to PWM conenctor.
It going to RMA, couse I cant remve block form card. Warranty sticker on one of four skrews near GPU, but ather 3 of them I could move almost with my fingers
Is it possible that MSI card form factor with block, and maybe they forget to remove sticker from block in factory

Thanks for any advice, it's my first open loop. Tomorrow will get GTX 1080 with proper working blok.

Hi,
SE series isn't much of a radiator
PE series would be a little better but I'd look into a GTX 280 if you have the room for it in the case
Add another if you plan on add the cpu to the loop or larger if the case can handle a gtx 360.

Sure, I'a going to add 9900k and then 420mm / 45mm and that allready used SE 280 will go on top of the case.
But now i Have only a card and still issue. This themp sould be lower, even without any fans on radiator.
On AiO 120mm with 2 fan, had 52-55 max(GTX 1080TI).

Config with 240 60mm -> 52:

You have correctly assembled the contour.
78 degrees a lot. Apparently the problem is in the EK block.

You said the block was pre-installed? i would remove the block and do a reinstall. It might have been installed improperly (improper thermal pad install, poor contact, etc).

And funny part:
In box with card you can find EKWB thermal paste with screws to waterblock. But I Cant open this card because of card warranty sticker.
In normal waterblock you can clean water block after remove couple of screws from front of card to maintanance you waterblock maybe, after 1 years of usage. In MSI most of screws are under cover with dragon, so you have to send card for maintenance and they will install new block(?), its hard to remove whole sticker... maybe is other way to do this.

My understanding (depending on the country you're in) a broken warrenty sticker doesn't mean a thing and you can't be denied a refund/RMA because of it. The company would have to prove that anything you did after breaking the sticker caused the issue. Most GPU companies would rather not have to deal with a bad PR situation either, especially if you properly documented your problems before removing the block.

If you dont want to go through all that, then an RMA is your best bet.

EDIT: sorry i, thought you were the OP.

Oh wow. I wish saw this a week ago. I am on MSI 2080 Ti EK X #2. Both are exactly the same way with GPU temp running way over coolant temp. A full water block GPU that hits 50C on the title screen in 20 seconds? I also found less than funny to see that little baggie of 1080 Ti screws and TIM and the same sticker on the back plate springs.

What did you end up doing? Did you ever get a card with decent block contact?
