Anyone ever mention how long it takes to open the boxes and take pix and then edit those adn then post it all .... ?

Too long !

Ok, got a coupla boxes on Friday and today - also had the cable guy run a new line, new box and took out the crap amplifier that was on there, so once again stable 'net - here's to watching for the outages and zooming ping that destroys this old man's BF3 gaming

First the Friday boxes -

Typical newegg box - this one full of orange fans

I chose Amazin for the mobo - don't wanna get pinned by the bent pin police tongue.gif
Lil scary at first, but you can see the airbags were in the right place ! altho I gotta wonder about the lack of sealed shut-ness on that damaged end, and ... oh well, spontaneous protection ! looks to be all in one piece.

Fan Parade ! They know their drills wink.gif

Now for the mobo in its own huge thick box

Looks are everything - mobo and fan are cuzzins !

Saturday Boxes - betcha can guess what that bottom one contains

Now for the reveal of the MONSTA 480

Aha ! the infamous crooked logo ~ o well

Maybe someone can explain this to me - look one way on the rad fins and then look from the other way - what do you see ? also, my first real macro - fun !
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Finally, I've moved to the level of a rad supplying a box for its screws n stuff - pretty copper too !

Way cool ! A complete set for all 32 holes !

Nice macro

Even nicer macro

Finally, the 3rd member of the orange triad - teh tubing - eh ? waddya think ? No stepchild here wink.gif

Ok - another day and I'll get this gear into the case and snap some pix and see what that all looks like.
Btw, do you all keep your shipping boxes ? I've got a garage about half full now tongue.gif

Careful ! money spent will soon follow wink.gif I'm trying to stay away from the rad and case tonite, and not think about it. CPU block and mobo block come in on Tuesday .. that should look good.

too bad about the mobo's orange slots, not sure which ram slots will be used, but its beginning to look like only a couple of the pci slots will even be visible. oh well... there's still all dem fans and tubing

Here you go - the Monsta makes an appearance - yah, I somehow managed to put a bit of a scratch on the straight logo side. I'm not sure which way to place the ports, I'm thinking fo' sho' that the Monsta goes up top, tho.

Now for the Orange Crush wink.gif I've borrowed a tip from Supreme888 - using Demciflex filters on the back side of the fan - magnetic, easy to pull off to clean, and doesn't block the view of the orange thru the vents. Woulda been a small pita to clean the Silverstone filter - I'd just end up blowing the dust into the case or trying to blow it out the front.

Pretty sure that at most, I'll put a 240 rad in the bottom - this case will allow a mount for a pump hanging off the side, so no need to mess with those front fans, though that may change once I get the Cougar fans in on the rad or rads. I've run across a couple of similar builds in black CL cases, and I'm thinking its possible to overdo the orange look - not that these 2 builds are overdone, quite the contrary.

You think ? I've been so trained by some of the OCD types on here - I'm one too ! - about saving bandwidth & using spoilers, but yah - you DO make a point, esp on the bling pix. I'll do it.

Hey Ragsters - welcome ! and you too Jeffsinlaw - see you guys all over the OCN. I gotta say, its super nice to have the DSLR - rebel 3ti - I may be only using a fraction of its capability, but its auto-stabilization and zoom lens and auto-focusing are making the picture taking FUN !

I have that same camera, and I love it. I am a terrible photographer, yet I am able to take some pretty decent pictures with it. Nothing amazing, but better than the average picture I think. tongue.gif Also, I agree on the larger pictures route. I also don't have slow internet, so I am probably a bit biased hehe.

I agree, great & terrible wink.gif - worth every penny, now that I have it, I can see why someone should get a DSLR. Probably the best deal cost wise to get into a dslr, esp when compared to the Sony and Nikon entry level models. A lot of it is over my head, but I can remember an uncle who had the expensive camera back in the 60's - 70's and all the gear he carried - this camera automates so much of it with much better results, the precision is ungodly compared to my p&s - I never would have believed it if I hadn't bought it and used it - like I am !
