White Lightning 2.0
NZXT Lexa S Case Mod & Build
Current Progress:

Hello OCN enthusiasts! I'm back at it with the same case, and a decent bit of the same hardware, that's right, I've done quite a bit since the first set of mods of this case (which can be viewed in tn the spoiler below) and I've got more to come!

For White Lightning 2.0, check Post 18 and onward!

_______________________________________________________________

Hello fellow OCN case modders! I'm now doing my second case mod (first one is Black Meets White). The reason for this mod is that I got my NZXT Lexa S in September 2012 and this is what it looked like.

But now I am starting to get tired of it. I saw my friends getting Phantoms and what not and realized I love white cases. Well what better thing to do than just make my case white?

This is exactly what I did! I also renamed my build from Blue Plasma to White Lightning!

_______________________________________________________________

Here is the current state of the mod:

Here is how it looked before the mod:

So far I have taken out my hardware, removed the front and sides, and painted the case white. I had some mess ups on both side panels and will be sanding and repainting both as well as touching up some missed spots on the main chassis when I get more spray paint. Here's the progress so far:

Currently I have blue acrylic mounted on the side panel in place of the stock smoked acrylic. I plan to replace this with clear acrylic.

Let me know what you think guys, and subscribe for support!

Update #1: Sanding and HDD Bay

I have sanded all the parts of the case that need to be repainted and I should be able to get everything painted tomorrow as well as clear coating it all.

As far as the HDD bay goes, well, I removed it. I only have one mechanical drive and that will be mounted in the topmost cd drive bay and my DVD in the third bay. Since I removed the HDD bay I wanted to take a piece of metal and put it in there to cover up the cables that would normally be hidden by the bays. I am also painting the visible parts of the cd drive as well as the topmost fin on my Hyper 212 Evo as well as coloring the top of the heatpipes and lettering on the top fin black.

Pics!

Update: Parts installed and painted, with some LED's installed!

Please excuse the random wires and hdd's, The led's are only temporarily wired in as well as the hdd's, I'll hide all the led wiring and install all of the drives later.

I also am making some plates to cover up the cd and floppy drive bays.

Hello!

Trust me, after looking through blue acrylic for years, it doesn't look as good as you think. I want to clearly see my components, I'm going to stick with clear acrylic.

Belated Update!

The current status of the right side of my pc:

Because.........The side panel is being painted.......again.......properly this time biggrin.gif

Also drilled a mounting hole to secure the lower plate that will help stealth my drive cages:

And its done:

Now to sand down and take the sharp edges off both of the plates:

And there they are, painted and installed!

Sadly the screwdriver slipped as I was securing the lower plate and it knocked off some of the paint, I'll have to repaint it.

So the before and after with stealth plates is:
Before:

After:

Another update in this ghost town of a thread:

The right side panel is finished!

Just so you guys know, the other side panel is gone, I've decided to just put in a big piece of clear acrylic on the side of the case. Don't know when I'll get said acrylic.
