Introduction

This is a continuation of an earlier mod I worked on.
Well it would be more accurate to say that it's a fundamental change in what I envisioned for this case.
In this mod I will be completely changing the look and feel of an old Silverstone rv02 case that I have done some work on before “to accommodate a 3x180 rad”.
There are some reasons for what I am doing besides trying to make a cool mod.
1. I was considering buying a new case but could not find one I liked that could accommodate the rad I have.
2. I need practice working with plexiglass as I’m starting a build with a friend sometime next year. “plexiglass only.”

Currently the mod is planned to span about 5-6 months where I will get new hardware and cooling fittings from the US as some can't be bought here in the EU yet “sucks”.

The general styling and color of the mod will be white with a dim glow to it hence the name Ghostly raven “some black as well”.

Hardware:
(NEED) Asus Maximus VI Formula
(NEED) eVGA GeForce GTX 780 Classified
(NEED) i7 4770k
(GOT) 16 Gigabyte Corsair Vengeance 1866mhz
(GOT) 4x OCZ 60gb Vertex 3 SSD's
(NEED) 2TB WD Black

Cooling:
(GOT) Alphacool NexXxoS 3x180mm rad
(GOT) 3x180mm Silverstone air penetrators
(GOT) Alphacool 25v D5 pump
(GOT) Step modulator for pump
(NEED) Voltage doubler for pump
(NEED) Alphacool NexXxoS XP³ cpu block
(NEED) Alphacool NexXxoS NVXP Nvidia GTX780
(NEED) Alphacool NexXxoS NVXP Nvidia Backplate
(NEED) PrimoChilll 1/2" OD Rigid Revolver Compression Diamond Knurled Fittings – White
(NEED) PrimoChilll 1/2" OD Rigid Acrylic – Clear

Case and styling:
Got it all except a few things not worth mentioning.
Ill leave it as a surprise smile.gif

Well anyhow I'm almost done with the new frame.
Yes I'm removing all the old plastic from the case and doing the mod on the metal frame only.
I'm also turning the case so the bottom faeces forward, basically turning it into a high tower.
Here's some pics of the case so far.

You will have to excuse me here. Did not think I would run out of white spray.
And on a side note. These last pic's where taken just after I came back from the hospital.
I somehow managed to cut myself on the back of my hand quite severely “could see tendons and all”

Reserved for case log updates and pic's

Update 11-16-2013
So i got some time at the workshop today.
Brought another can of white but **** me. Still not enough.
A bit of a setback as i might have o wait a while before i can do some more work on it.
At-least i didn't injure myself this time.
I also got a bit more work done on the plexiglas frame.
Added the black 3mm list to the frame.
all tho its off by about 0,5mm but i can sand that down.

I want to add that the Plexiglas that i ordered wasn't 100% within tolerance. "guess i have to find another supplier"

Here's some more pics all tho not much has happened.

Hay anyone tried to disassemble a ThermalTake though-power 1200w before?

Need to paint the bastard and disassembling it is not easy.
Any help / tips would be appreciated.

I just got some extra spending cash so i have a few things on the way i mail.
Black rubber for all the edges in the case.
2x 1m black sleeved led kits.
**** load of white sleeving for psu and aother cables.
2 whiteled lighted buttons for power and reset.
Alphacool NexXxoS XP³ Light - Black V.2 - Intel/AMD.
Mayhems Pastel Ice White concentrate 250ml
2x Aquatuning AT-Protect-Clear 1000ml

and a few other things that i need for this mod.

next week i will also get new front and top covers as the current ones are to transparent and there's a crack in the top cover.

I have also decided to make a some transparent white plexi cover for the psu area to hide the psu.
Stuff for that will also arrive next week.

Anyhow i'm hoping to get some time in the workshop tomorrow and realy make some headway with this mod.
gluing the white frame to the case and drilling for top front and side screw holes.
With this i should soon have a usable case.

I have been using my laptop for 2 weeks now and i'm missing my stationary for gaming smile.gif
