F1 with a fan by the HDD bay would be my pick

Looking excellent so far!

Thanks guys. Greatly appreciated. Seems to be mostly a consensus that a side-panel fan is just blocking the view if you aren't air-cooling dual GPUs. And I can add a fan later if that happens. So the fan in the mobo area is out the window. *badumswish*

So far I've got:

1 vote for C with some fear about being able to do a neat job.

2 votes for B

2 votes for F1 with some fear about being able to do a neat job.

3 votes for E1

5 votes for D1

Looks like most people prefer the "clean" look of a plain rounded-cornered rectangle to show off the insides. If split the difference, then E1/D1 seems to be a clear frontrunner here.

Side note, some guys on Reddit suggested hiding more of the drive cages. Any thoughts on that?

Also, I believe I'll practice my cutting on the rear side panel where I'm installing the bumpout before I try anything fancy on the front side panel. Should get a feel for my abilities that way.

You could hide the drive cages behind some plastic-covered-vinyl, something like this:

I would certainly do that for the 5.25 drive bays but having a lot of drives in the HDD bay can have its own appeal in certain circles wink.gif

i'm with this guy.

try using some 3mm acrylic plate "plexiglass"

if you need any hints on working with the stuff just ask. have a good deal of experience working with it by now.
using a lot of plexi in and on my raven mod... snow raven smile.gif

Thanks guys. Guidance appreciated.

I'm feeling like maybe a semi opaque, removable backlit acrylic in front of those drive cages?

I did something similar on my rig. Check out my build log [sig]

Plexiglass / Acrylic is easy - a jigsaw, metal files and sandpaper is all you need
