Thanks. I want the new owner to get a new sata DVD-R drive to ditch the IDE. I also want to mod some front panel USB connections. This case is so old, it doesnt have anything on front but LEDs and switches. lol

I like the PCI slot cover mod too. It does look very sharp in person.

I didn't even notice there weren't any USB ports up front on that case! redface.gif
If they want a DVD drive then a SATA DVD/RW would be optimal! smile.gif

So I THINK I've finally got this computer running. The Seagate HDD I was using is obviously going bad, but not in an immediately noticeable way. I was getting SEVERE lag in Windows 7, enough to where the mouse and keyboard stop responding (system freeze) for a second at a time during heavy hdd use, like downloading and installing updates. I thought it was the sata cable, since it was an old bent up one. Nope.

Switched it with a WD that has bad sectors somewhere within the first 13GB of the disk, so I partitioned that out, and installed Win7 to a 120GB partition that comes AFTER the first 13GB, and its running well. This is the 3rd Win7 install on this rig in a week. lol

Well, it seems to be running REALLY smooth now, and I will be doing some OC'ing (stock cooler, so I gotta be careful) and getting the RAM up to speed. 2.2ghz CPU, 200Mhz RAM stock, shooting for 2.4ghz, and 240+ RAM. Before I was stable at 246Mhz DRAM, and it FLEW, lol.

So, all is good, and she is running well. I was worried til I realized the Seagate (I mean it IS Seagate, ha ha) was going bad. NO!? LOLOLOL biggrin.gif
