I had an idea a long
time about trying out watercooling, but I never got around to actually doing it... I was looking at graphs of which 240 radiator to buy to accompany my hardware. I scratched the idea and started looking at 280 radiators instead.. After a while I had no time for the project any more, so it got left on the shelf for a while.
I have now returned, with the idea that people said cannot be done... What idea was that you may ask, fitting a big radiator inside a case that's more or less to small for the job, without some cutting and reorganizing, but I went for it.The components:HardwareCase:
Fractal Design Core 1000 USB3Motherboard:
Asus Maximus VII GeneProcessor:
Intel Core i7-4790KGrapichs Card:
EVGA GTX780 ACXMemory:
Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 2400MHz CL11Power Supply:
Corsair HX 750WStorage:
Samsung 840 240GBCoolingRadiator:
Alphacool XT45 360
Thats all components for now. I started yesterday cutting the case to place this enormous radiator inside it:
Measured up and ready to cut!
Radiator slided in and mounted
An inside look
Mounted with PrimoChill Hex 2-Layer Rad Grillz
Next item up is the power supply mount, which will be in the front off the case. Making the PSU fit requires making a hole in the bottom of the case to fit the powercord and a "riser" for the PSU to sit on. The only problem is that I have to wait till Wednesday to see how tall the 90 degree connector is.
This will be a slow build log, so brace yourself
