(Scratch Build) Half Wood Giant

I have been batting around the idea of building a case for a while. I originally wanted to make a desk, but it isn't feasible at this point. So, I put together a list of a ideas on what I want in a case and started designing.

List of wants:
- 90 degree rotation on motherboard
- support for ATX and SSI-EEB motherboards
- 3x 120mm exhaust fans on top
- no bottom mounted intake fans
- 2x 360mm radiators with push fan configuration
- easily removed radiator mounts
- Aluminium frame
- Wood exterior panels

So this is what I came up with...(pardon the poor rendering quality)

Current Status:

Details:
- there will be a radiator in the front and rear panel
- one drive bay on the bottom for a bluray player
- room for 2x 3.5" and 2x 2.5" drives
- pulling hardware out of a Cooler Master HAF 912 for drive bays and other parts

Hardware:
- AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (4.3ghz all core, 1.285v)
- G.Skill 2x16 3200c14 (b-die)(3600 at 16-16-16-30)
- MSI x470 Pro Carbon
- AMD Radeon 5700xt (reference) (no overclock)
- SeaSonic Platinum 860w
- SanDisk UltraII 240gb (OS)
- Samsung 960 Evo 1TB (Daily Use - Games, Work)
- SanDisk UltraII 480gb (Daily Use - Work)
- Seagate Barracuda 2TB (long term storage)
- HGST Deskstar NAS 6TB (long term storage)
- BluRay drive

Liquid Cooling:
- 2x XSPC RX360
- 6x EK Vardar F1 1150rpm in push only configuration
- 1x EK X-Top D5 Vario
- 1x EK x470 Pro Carbon Monoblock
- 1x EK Vector Radeon RX 5700 +XT RGB - Nickel + Plexi
- 1x XSPC Photon 170
- XSPC/Bitspower fittings (lots of them)
- Soft tubing
- Distilled w/ Mayhams Inhibitor+ and Biocide+

Retired Gear
- 2x Opteron 6320's with ASUS KGPE-16 and 32gb RAM in quad channel.
- 2x Koolance CPU-380A
- 1x AlphaCool Nexxos GTX - r9-280x M04
- 1x EK Z170G Monoblock
- 1x AlphaCool Nexxos GTX - r9-390x M02
- 1x EK R9-390X-TF5
- OCZ Vertex2 50gb
- WD Blue 500gb (random storage)
- MSI Z170 Gaming 7
- Intel 6700k (at 4.4ghz)
- G.SKILL (2 x 8gb) TridentZ DDR4-3000 (CAS14 version)
- MSI Radeon R9 390X

Status:

Well, after picking the metal from the store, i realized that I need to clean out my garage so I have a place to work...Yeay slobbiness.

I also had a nice adventure ordering the GPU block. Ended up selecting the M05 version instead of M04. Hopefully Alphacool gets my email before they ship it.

Well, I started cutting the framework pieces. When finished, it should look something like:

LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01

but so far it only looks like:

So...I took a day off of work on Friday and decided to work on my case all weekend. Originally, I was going to pull out most the important bits from the current case (Cooler Master ATCS 840 ), take measurements, then put it back into the original case. But, progress went faster than I expected so I left the parts out and frantically got most everything finished.

The computer is still not put together since I didn't have enough time to leak test the loop. So, all the pictures are still on my camera at home and I am typing away on my work computer. All I have is one I took with my cell.

Things accomplished:
-Finished mount for MB, PSU, hard drive cage, blu-ray drive, res, pump, top fans
-made custom cables for PSU to fan splitter blocks
-Side panels finished, including mount for radiators.
-paint (Used automotive lacquer Paint Shop 'Jet Black')
-stained side panels (Miniwax 'Special Walnut')
-sealed panels with polyurethane
-mounted the lights
-put the water block on the XFX 280X DD. Had to modify the block to fit. The hole for the power plugs was 1/8" off...
-set up loop

Things left to do:
-Cut the window polycarbonate
-Mount top fans
-power cables
-run cables for power/reset switches.
-mount the fan splitter blocks
