It seems I am going to switch to a new case because after getting 390X and hearing it full speed howling it was clear it must be water cooled, however, after careful consideration I decided that my current case is not quite up the task, unfortunately.
* As light as possible while rigid enough for transport.
* Minimum 3x HDD, 2x SSD storage (some hot swap capacity as well if feasible)
* One (primary) GFX card water cooled (case inside must be still accessible if needed).
* As small as feasible (partly because of weight) while keeping the current components.
In a nutshell I'm planning to go for GPU only custom loop with only a water-block inside and all the rest of the loop attached to the side panel above motherboard tray. There will be couple of quick disconnects to make it possible to remove the side panel if needed to access the internals. The idea is similar to what I have done int he past with nova 1080 monster radiator, just not on the side-panel behind the motherboard tray but on the one above it and with much smaller weight (nova 1080 adds 5 kg to the system on its own). This is the past setup from which I'm drawing inspiration.
Revoltex fifty I believe, heavily modded.
And this is my current system Kohver v.3 :
Sharkoon VS3 with some number of mods (internally) to fit longer GFX cards and extra HDD cage on top.
I got an aluminum case for 11 EUR from Ebay when I was thinking about the case options. Add in 14 eur for transport and I had a aluminum case for 25 EUR! Thats like .. uhh .. pretty good price I'd say. The case is Jupiter PSR4609D7 - apparently designed sometime around year 2000 and has been just sitting in its original box some warehouse for the past 13 .. 15 years waiting for buyer. It's not quite ATX compatible but I will make it work - I believe it claimed compatibility for PSII... one 80 mm intake and one 80 mm exhaust and thats about it. It's just anodized aluminium so some paint would have to get involved as well at some point to cover up all the scratches I'm going to no doubt inflict upon this case during handling and modding it to fit my needs.
