Spectre Redux-800D to 900D Case Swap & Upgrade

Hey!

Starting off this new thread showcasing the biggest PC build undertaking I have ever convinced myself to go ahead with. This is what happens when you graduate high school.

The backstory:
I bought my first PC when I was 13, an 8th grader for those of you here in the states. It was absolute crap: were talking 2013, and I was running SLI 7800GTs. That spawned a fanaticism for hardware I never could have imagined. Initially this involved frequent trips to the local computer recycling guy, looking for things like GTX 460s. My builds incrementally progressed, moving out of the scary early 2000s enclosure I started with (I don't think I need to elaborate-thing looked like an aluminum cheesy fishtank). I bought an FX8350, traded my GTX 460 for an ASUS M5A99X Evo R2.0 and finally bought my first water-cooling hardware.

By the grace of some higher power, someone on Overclock.net sent me a GTX 680 Heatkiller waterblock for free. Together with a Swiftech Apogee HD and about $250 worth of other stuff, I had my first water-cooled PC. The cherry on top was the WONDERFUL (sarcasm) Raidmax 902WW that I had to cut a hole in to fit my radiator on.

Long story short, I got an 800D, then a 900D (the case I dreamed about for years). I learned to hand sleeve cables, work with hardline etc.

I just graduated high school. I have some cash-were gonna do this one right folks.

Help? I'm just here for the free coffee.

NAME DECIDED

Allright-

Name of the 800D build was Dominator. Not sure why I chose that, but probably because I had just build my best PC yet.

This one will be named SPECTRE for the "ghost like" frosted acrylic tubes and res.

Attached is a picture of the build in my 800D that spawned the name idea.

USPS Delivery!

I love knocks on the door.

I just received some good stuff!

In the Amazon shipment from Titan Rig:
-XSPC 90 degree rotary fittings
-XSPC 3/4 OD 1/2 ID soft tube compression fittings
-some XSPC G/14 plugs-never know when you need to plug holes
-4 Phanteks PH-F120SP (I have 3 already on the 360MM rad I have currently in use)
-XSPC RX480

In a separate shipment:
Bykski EVGA GTX 980 TI waterblock!!! I will explain why I paid $36 in shipping from China for it, but it has to do with the really deep hole you can see for the power delivery chokes. I have a 980TI FTW from EVGA and it is well known that no waterblock exists for that card... OR SO YOU THOUGHT. Really though, a much higher quality product than I was expecting.

Check out the enclosed pics!

A large order of parts from COLDZERO incoming-5.25in back and side plates with SSD mounts, short mid plate. I have a local plastics ship working on ventilated side covers for the HDD cages. I have my eyes on some bulkhead fittings to use through the mid plate.

Also in the mail (I think): the new Cablemod vertical GPU bracket. Might as well show off that sexy Chinese waterblock!

I will be posting updates as regularly as I can. Lets get this build bumping!

Well I know I skipped a number of steps in this log, but here it is, the 90% finished product. At this point, she runs, drives (to use card words) but isn't quite street legal. I hope to get a full tempered glass side panel sorted out, but I'm starting to run out of cash in a serious way. Also need a vinyl decal.

Anyways, for anyone who cares, here it is!

She's beautiful, and better yet, she's mine!

Edit: Also hoping to get a second SSD for an OSX boot drive Ryzen Hacintosh (my work means I cross platforms a lot). Saving for some RGB SSD covers from Jmmods. Oh, being a student.
