Not surprised about the Alphacools have lots of crud in them. At least it won't be circulating through your loop now.
Yeah this one is using cloud white EK premix once it's inside the case so any floating debris would be highly visible I would assume.
It's all going in the wetbench tomorrow with just clear EK premix so if there is anything loose I think it would get caught while in test phase.

I am having some trouble mounting my Xres to the side of the praxis it doesn't seem there is any real compatibility. I suppose I can use the mount I have to attach it to the radiator but it wont look as good that way and I can't leave it on the desk loose as my cats are very very interested in my work area.

Should have some shots tomorrow either completed or halfway.

The mounting issue has me perplexed.

Not a thing came of the xspc rads with 5-6 flushes of distilled water afterwards but the Alphacools had a ton of flux and such come out.
they'er fine, n sounds about right, thus why we've dubbed them alphastool over the years.

Yeah just decided to use the XSPCs instead. The fins were immaculate no dings etc. The threads for the inlets were already sanded down no paint flakes.

I ran into a bit of a snag with leak testing. I have a Dr. Drop but it itself appears to be leaking. I tested the section of tubing I was using with my drain valve on the other end closed and it was without a doubt losing pressure. I filled the tube and let it sit for a few hours plugged mostly full. I then came back to look and found no sign of water permeating the seals so I gave it a good shake and started spinning it around over my head and such. Nothing. I hand tightened the fittings no tools and I wasn't sure about removing the o rings and wetting them first so I did that as well.

Is this common with these? I saw EK came out with one of their own after I had already ordered this thing.
Thoughts on how to proceed?

I have seen several of those Dr. Drop leak testers leak so would not surprise me if it's leaking.

Just fill it with water and run the pump with nothing else powered on for 24 hours and carefully inspect all the fittings. Usually if it makes 24 hours your are good to go.
