AMD Ryzen third gen build log.

I pulled the trigger on the first components of my new build. Going to be a Ryzen third gen system when it comes out. Price is going to be unknown. But I’m not doing anything particularly high end. The first two components are these.

I’ll be purchasing parts every paycheck. It’ll be fun once I pay off my credit cards, haha.

How’d I do?

Looks good so far! What CPU are you looking at? And do you have an X570 board in mind too?

Is the new chipset even out? Unsure yet. Going with the X series 6 core most likely

No, it's not out yet. Should be July 7th just like all the Zen 2 CPUs. But pretty much all of the boards have been covered thanks to Computex, and a lot of the pricing can be found online searching too. Some of them can get really pricey! Even the more entry level ones are gonna start around $200 or so. If you don't care about PCIe 4.0 then you can wait for B550 boards which should be less. X470/X370/B450/B350 boards will work too but you will need an existing supported CPU like Zen or Zen+ in order to flash the BIOS so it can support a Zen 2 CPU.

The PSU you picked is not bad but its not all that great either and for an X570 build you should spend more on the PSU
The Seasonic Focus Plus is a good option that dont cost a ton of money

Corsair Carbide 275R only comes with two fans, to maximize it you'd need to buy 3 more 120mm fans.
move the free front fan to the back-most-top as exhaust, then put the 3 additional 120mm fans as front-intake.
another thing thats optional but worth a buy is a fan controller hub or a controllable splitter, this would allow you to adjust your fan's RPM to fit within your tolerable noise.

as for what kind of fan to buy, good old Cyclops' thread still does wonders for a reference.
https://www.overclock.net/forum/246-...enchmarks.html
the main thing to look into is the "pull" category, since fans are pulling against the front-airfilters.

trolling an adult is very dangerous, don't try it at home nor at work. you don't want to play tag with a rabid man.

I’ll be dropping about $250 ish on a board.

Nothing *really*. There are just better options by small margins. Corsair customer service can often be an absolute nightmare, but warranty on a dead psu that possibly broke some stuff is generally the same between all brands/manufacturers.

Seasonic is a brand I trust more than corsair mainly due to the fact that they manufacture the units they sell themselves.

Any real technical issues I would need to look into but wont, as its sub 1000W I dont need to know.

Had my G2 since my quad 290x build.
