So I figured I'd post my custom fan speed controller, with hopes that somebody finds this useful, or gets inspired to make their own, or benefits from this in any other way.
Here we go. My idea was to get a fan controller without having to pay for a fan controller. Makes sense, right? After a wittle bit of research, I found THESE FANS
. I know they're not the best, but they did come with their own RPM control, went from 800 to 2500rpm. I like. Got 4 of them.
I took out the switches themselves and decided somehow put them into 5.25 CD slot.
Next, I had an old HDD cooler (which was destined for failure from birth - don't buy one, they don't cool jack) that looked like this
I used that as a holder for the metal plate I cut out and painted and drilled, and attached the for switches to it like this:
In the end, I got my final product:
Oh, and I thinkThermaltake should consider paying me money for this shot (I can clean off the dust and re-take it, if they insist):
Hope you found this interesting. Comments, suggestions, questions, and threats all welcome!
