Dream monitor. Well, almost. I'd like a high PPI version (10240x2880) but I think it's going to be a while before that comes out

Why I had to watch those videos... Now I want this. But I must resist because I don't have a graphic card that can handle that resolution. VA is my yes monitor anyway. Currently I have Samsung C34H890 for gaming and movies.

It does look pretty cool and I bet it's sweet with racing games. Raise your hand if you immediately thought, I need 2 of these to STACK!

But..... man I dunno. I got a 43" 4K monitor locally (Microcenter, Acer ET430k $399) and it's just the most awesome thing. It's been 2 months now and sometimes I just stare at it in awe.....

My GTX 1070 couldn't cut the 4k mustard though, had to upgrade. I sold it and got a used 1080ti and it does pretty well...

I would'a jumped on this monitor over my 4K any day if it would'a been out.

I miss my old NV surround setup, & this resolution/size is pretty much that in one big screen.

luckily I've decided i'm on hold for all upgrades until late 2021, we'll see what kinda true ultra wide single panels exists then.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.

I've got to say this monitor is an absolute beast! I order mine directly from Samsung and it arrived two days later without any dead pixels. I did notice that my monitor is a second revision so maybe Samsung has made changes to the manufacturing process to help with the dead pixel issue.

The biggest downfalls of these:
  • the distorting curve
  • slow smeary blacks VA
  • barely any movies are made beyond 21:9

Sadly LG makes the same mistakes and curves most if not all of their ultrawides.

And prices are inexplicably nuts for ultrawides. Might as well buy an OLED TV at 1500 USD/EUR, well you can get those now from a 1000 USD/EUR. Makes 1500 monitors fairly worthless.

http://www.displaywars.com/55-inch-d...7B5120x1440%7D

Double the height for 55" 16:9 vs 49" 32:9. Of course pixel density is worse for the TV panels.
