Dutchie reporting in

Hey guys and girls,

I'm a 30 year old gamer from the Netherlands. My parents bought our first PC when I was around 10 years old, I built my first PC when I was 16 and almost every 2 or 4 years I updated something on my PC. Last week, I was looking to upgrade some parts again and ended up in my BIOS running the first OC in my life. I always thought it was kind of useless to OC and there weren't any relevant gains to be made. I didn't know the entire process of testing was hell of fun and in the end I did notice a good difference (OBS worked a lot better). Now here I am a week later, posting on an overclock-forum.

Code:
CPU:	i7 4770k (07/2014)
 cooler:Scythe Ashura SCASR-1000 (07/2014)
MOBO:	MSI Z87-G45 Gaming, S1150 (07/2014)
RAM:	4x 8gb DDR3 1600Mhz Cru. Ballistix(07/2014)
GPU:	MSI GTX 1080 Founders Edition 8GB (05/2016)
HDD:	1TB SSD Samsung 850 EVO 520/540 (08/2016)
PSU:	Corsair HX1000i	(plat.) (11/2016)
Case: CoolerMaster CM690 III (07/2014)
It didn't take too long (~4,4ghz @ ~1,250v) for my CPU to hit 100 C on Prime95 and after getting the 4 years of dust out the cooler I didn't get it cool enough. Now here is the reason why I registered on the forum, I ordered my own custom EK loop. I am going to try and build a custom loop for my CPU & GPU with 2 240mm rads (EK SE) and see where that takes me. That alone was enough reason for me to be lurking here for days (hours), but today I was also able to buy a CPU, mobo & RAM for a really really good price. I already ordered all my parts at EK, but it couldn't keep me from buying the following:

Code:
CPU: i7 8700k
MOBO: ASRock Z370 Extreme 4
RAM: 2x 16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666mhz
I'm not that sure anymore if I will be testing with the 4770k first, but that is my current plan. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and promise you that I will use the search as much as possible.

Hey guys,

2 weeks in trying to build my new PC. I have run in to many issues that are new to me. Never in the last 15 years have I doubted my PC-skills, but I now own a very expensive brick.

I could not find a troubleshoot section in the forums and after 2 weeks of reddit I now can't install Windows anymore.

Please help a brother in need

"Can't install Windows anymore" is awfully vague. Not a surprise no one can help you with that information.

Sorry, I was asking for directions where to post the issue. I already have Windows running now and checking if I run in to any problems.

//Edit:
I experienced micro-stutters with my GPU, for some reason some programs couldn't use internet and I had noise on my back audio. On top of that my PC got slower and slower by the day. I now have a clean install with an updated Windows and not an older version. This seems to have fixed a lot.

This build got me really stressed out, I understand why u think my post wasn't helping me at all 🙂

Also, u have 13373 posts please no more than 7 posts.

Any progress on your build Dutchie?
Or did you find a place elsewhere here to ask for help?

If you don't quote people they'll have no idea you responded to them. I only saw your response because @Robotika bumped it with his post.

If you want any help you gotta explain your exact issue better or no one is going to be able to help. Saying "I can't install Windows" doesn't give anyone anywhere near enough information to know where to start in helping you.

Is the installer freezing? Or are no storage devices showing up? Or can you not boot off the USB stick to install Windows? Or can you install Windows and then it refuses to boot after the restart?

There's probably an infinite amount of things that could be your issue and no one is going to spend time helping you figure it out if you can't narrow it down some
