Just surfing and keeping up with the latest tech. Built a Ryzen about a year ago with the R3 2200g. Good little processor. Not too powerful on the gpu or maybe it was the early drivers. I had a 1060 3G to swap and was happy with the performance. Engineering work with light duty gaming. It overclocked ok with the stock cooler and minor adjustments. I think it was running at 3.9GHz @ 1.25v. Mem ws at 3200 (no V change)
I just upgraded the cpu to a R5 1600 AF. Moderate OC on the stock cooler: 4G @ 1.25V, Patriot 16G 3000 oc'd to 3200 (no V change). It's stable.
Curious about headroom for CPU oc and mem oc. Thoughts? Max Temps under load for 30mins are reaching 92C, AVG temp is ~ 85C, Idle temps are running around 33C. Oh, forgot to mention: this is a linux machine, occasionally boots to windows. Using GtkStress for cpu loading and temp measurement.
NXZT case, MSI Carbon AC mb, Stock cooler, 550W Raidmax XT ps, EVO M2, and Sata ssd
I'd be happy to move this to the appropriate thread, but I wanted to say Hi first. Hi!
