Anyone get the new 3dMark "Port Royal" bench?

I got a steam gift card for Christmas so I spared the three bucks and downloaded the new Port Royal bench. Immediately apparent when running with default settings at 1440p it's almost as if the CPU is virtually untasked. Has anyone else noticed this? Or maybe that's the point.... Taking the CPU out of the equation to purely bench the card? another thing that is different from the other benchmarks is the frame time spikes ludicrously high like 50 miliseconds plus. Maybe just not really optimized? It gets down to like 20fps in a lot of parts , and I have a 2080. Seems off.

I think that it was designed to be solely focussed on the GPU as normal Timespy was starting to be CPU bottlenecked on some systems - I could be wrong though.

The spikes and/or low fps could just be side-effects of the raytracing technology maybe?

So fun story about Port Royal. It refuses to run on my 2070,. it loads up, the bar goes across and then it flashes to the next loading screen. Only fix for me is windowed 1080p. Kinda killed it for me.
