Geek Bench & Passmark

Hi,

I've got the Passmark software version 9 after seeing all the benchmarks etc.......but being quite new to OC'ing and system building etc....It's difficult to know all the benchmarks for testing all the hardware that everyone here uses.

I've heard of Geek Bench and the reviewers talking about certain performance numbers from all the CPU's they test.

The numbers seem very different to Passmark for the same processor that is tested.

Multi-threaded and single threaded is talked about a lot, (along with lots of other things probably)___

What are the differences between Passmark & Geek Bench? - I've not used this (yet)__Thanks

>>>> There must be another software as well that is similar because I remember the 7700 K being rated as 4800 points for single threaded or maybe more.....

2 different types of benchmarks really. Passmark has a wider range of systems testing like gpu and hdd while Geekbench is used mainly for IPC.

Why?

>>After looking up / comparing so many CPU's top line (multi) / single line (thread) - I bought V9 - As a newbie OC'er system tweaker this was very good to have but I can't say I've used all the features.

I prefer free apps https://www.majorgeeks.com - and this is a decent place
