looking at the recommended specs for running a SE server I'd say no but if you're saying they're not accurate then you know more than I do.
Thanks for all your help..

I am skeptical of the ES chip based on the sellers comments;

Intel Core I7-6xxx ES LGA1151 CPU can support 100 series motherboards. Such as H110 B150 H170 Z170.
It only supports BIOS that before August 2016, not supported the BIOS that after August 2016.
Does not support 200 300 series full range of motherboards.

I guess I will figure it out...

I'm running Space Engineers fine with dual Xeon 5420 and 16gb of ram. We typically only have 4-6 players at a time though. We only had performance issues when we introduced a no speed limit mod.

Do you use other mods without any issues?
How about PCU caps?

We use about 10 mods so far. We hit the PCU cap and I increased it with no noticeable issues. But again, we only have a 4-6 dedicated friends who play.

Was going to make a new post, but I see this section of the forum doesn't move much. So Please disregard my original post..

I have been saving and have around $1,300 for a new mobo/cpu for a dedicated gaming server.
While technically the game I host is single/dual core and the faster the clock the better. Having more cores means the more servers I can host.

So I've been thinking either the 3950k that isn't out yet or possibly one of the new offerings from Intel (X Series) or the AMD Thread Rippers. Which are all due out in November..

Looking for a good balance between clock and core count.

I have the PSU, the SSD, and 32gb RAM already
