The mounting hole spacing wouldn't change so any LGA1156/1155 compatible cooler will be useable for LGA1150.

How many RAM module slots will the standard Haswell motherboards have?

4 DIMM slots supporting up to 32GB of RAM, running in dual channel mode. The same as the 1155 and 1156 platforms. Some lower end boards or ITX boards may only have 2 slots though.

Haswell looks very promising. Can't wait to upgrade once they're out.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for a CPU price drop if I were you:

Newegg Price of i5-2500K have stayed at $220 from June 2011 up to Today, only occasional dip from 1-2 day special sales or Black Friday.

As well, top end CPUs actually tend to shoot upwards after a new mobo/CPU comes out as supply diminishes. This happened with both socket 775 as well as 1366 so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again with 1155/1156.

Currently Playing
Iron Brigade (Now with Steamworks!) | Diablo III (6WW+2IK BK Barbarian) | Elite Dangerous (I <3 Rhino HOTAS)

Looking Forward To
Oculus Rift CV1 | Galak-Z | Star Citizen | Bedlam (Backed) | The Flame in the Flood (Backed)

Recently Finished
Tomb Raider | Metro - Last Light | Far Cry 3 - Blood Dragon | Costume Quest 2 |

Excluding OCing ability what's everyone's consensus on moving from IB to haswell? Does it warrant the upgrade? I've got a 3570k sitting at home ready for my next build kinda wondering if i should try and sell and wait for haswell.

I'm also wondering with the consoles taking on some hardware that can finally handle some heavily multi-threaded apps will we see games maxing out the hexa-cores and taking on multi-threaded approaches like Crysis 3? Has me worried.
