That looks crappy, and I'm hoping it's not what we're to expect for the the flagship card, maybe the 8950 (or 9950 or whatever the heck they're calling it).
I want a high-quality blower-style reference design.

Honestly it almost looks like someone shooped a 7950 reference cooler on top of a reference 7970.

- aesthetics are subjective and opinions are like posterior orifices -

If that's photoshop job then it's a damn good one.

Assuming thats real, and it does look it. Did AMD do away with the blower design?

Horrible looking card tbh, but waterblocks make it irrelevant.

The card doens't look that good IMHO, but who gives a crap... What counts is performance, plz let it be faster than the 780... The specs are beastly, expected a little more VRAM though...

It looks like a lower end card. probably 8850 or 9850.

the 7970 originally released at 549$. If anything, the you always want the later competitive card to be lower in price just to add a little bit of pressure to the competition(which the 680 did, but that was also with the help of Nvidia as a brand as a whole, itll slightly be less effective for AMD)

It could be but judging from the source, it says 8970.
