I seriously almost found myself in your shoes... I was waiting until next week to order some 780s unless AMD gave us some new information, then I stumbled upon this just as it was released.

Well, if the 8970 matches or beats the 780, AMD will likely sell it for $650 or slightly less. The 8950 will likely be around 7970Ghz performance which means they can get away with selling it for $450. I guess there won't be need for regret if that's the case (my windforce still has some OC headroom. Just a humble 1Ghz core now). However, if AMD chooses to ignore Nvidia and price the 8970 (if it matches 780 performance OC'd) at around $450, then I'll sell my kidneys and get one even though I only game at 1080p...
It is very likely that this is just gonna be an APU announcement (especially given the 4 core part of the video ...)
Though by the time these launch I'll probably be serving in the army. But maybe that wont stop me lol.
Anyways I kinda hope that the previous leaked specs aren't true, and that instead of clocking these really high out of the box AMD would opt to go balls to the wall with the specs themselves and let enthusiasts do their job. Don't want another HD6000.
(and assuming this is about high end graphics cards at all ofc)
