But how I wish this TV could do 60hz at 4K. So close yet so far. Interesting what some people said about down sampling it and running a high refresh rate.

Huh? DP 1.2 most certainly does support 60hz at 4k resolution, asus demonstrated their 39 inch screen doing just that with DP 1.2 and one cable. It already works on AMD cards with 1 DP 1.2 cable, and nvidia just needed to update their drivers to support it via DP 1.2. (not sure if that happened yet.) Right now, using this TV on your PC is a joke. Unless you want split screen functionality through HDMI or to crawl along at 30hz....

That being said, displayport is NOT a TV standard. It is for computers and portables ONLY, so it's understandable that this TV does not have it. That still means the TV is junk, though.

Unless you're referring specifically to the Seiki, then i'm misunderstanding. As far as i'm concerned, this TV is junk due to the lack of 60hz - although I wouldn't expect DP on a QHDTV. Displayport is generally for PC monitors only, which this product obviously it is not a PC monitor.

What type of panel tech is this using?

Not 60hz just kills it. If u buy a display for 4k, it would be ridiculous to drop the res. As well.

My dell ultramarine cost the same but I'll take the 60hz

I bet it looks luscious though regardless, would love to see one in person.

Remember, this is a TV.

Not a PC monitor. Most TV viewers would be completely oblivious to this piece of junk being only 30hz.

DP 1.2 is only found on monitors, this is a TV.

This. I'm aware it's not a consumer electronics standard, but there is nothing stopping it from becoming one, other than inertia being against it.

That 30Hz limit is very disappointing, I wonder why it was so cheap.

Except DP doesn't support CEC (HDMI does), and all those who currently earn royalty from HDMI would squash any "DP for TV" movement.
