Also, have you got the most current bios? With my UP4 there were 3 updates between the launch of Kaveri and when I recieved my 7850k.

I can say I have experienced better performance via Overdrive than overclocking in the Bios and I am ot really sure why that would be...settings exactly the same in terms of multiplier and voltages (and LLC) it just seems Overdrive provides a more consistant voltage....totally backwards to my past overclocking experiences.... But to be getting similar, and most of the time better performance than my 6800k at 400+mhz less clocks, with much better temps Im pretty happy.

I didn't know there were more recent Beta drivers, I'm going to check them out now. Thanks!

EDIT: Still the same issue, removed the previous drivers in safe mode using DDU, removed AMD Overdrive and installed the new drivers and AMD Overdrive. I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro, straight off MSDN.

Very odd have not run into this issue in the least, though I use bios for CPU OCing and Afterburner for GPU OCing so I haven't really played with Overdrive much.

I know it was asked, but if you haven't listened to the advice yet, you should really look into the motherboard bios thing. The latest bios for my ASrock really helped me out at one point when I first start playing with clocks (also stabilized my ram at 2400Mhz), so at this point, it couldn't hurt.

Thanks for your help. I'm on the latest BIOS from literally two days ago. It kinda sucks, because I think OD is the only thing that can accurately read Kaveri temps at the moment frown.gif

I suggest you try Asus Ai Suite if it is feasible for your motherboards.

This lol.... I know that I would be downgrading (in some aspects)... this just looks so much fun to tinker with.

And less power draw.

Bf4 is one of my favourite so it will work nicely.

That also.

Yea, I just thought about all the games I play, and really there isn't a single one that I couldn't max out (havent updated sig rig with 290x) using a kaveri quad instead of my 8350, mantle or not.

I've been running some benchmarks/stress tests and everything seems to be working fine.

I think this issue may somehow be motherboard related, but I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your board. I have an A10-7850k and have tinkered with a few different motherboards in the past year or so.
An Asus A88XM-Plus had the same immediate reboot issue that you have.
An Asus A88XM-A on the other hand works just fine with AMD Overdrive.
Same windows 7 OS, so that wasn't an issue. The boards had different features so maybe one of the features on the A88XM-Plus caused the problem, but I'm just guessing. The A88XM-Plus did have a fancy switch that would automatically overclock the cpu and gpu portions of the APU so maybe that caused problems. I did try AMD Overdrive with the switch in both positions but I still go the immediate reboot either way. I could never really nail down what caused the problem.
Another guy who really knows his stuff on another forum had this same board and had the same reboot issue so it wasn't just me.
You aren't alone....
