Not quite a waste of $50. It's (quietly) holding 45 deg C overclocked running Oblivion which is out performing the swiftech air cooler which was $42. (I tried the Zalman but couldn't fit because of the poor layout of the mobo.) This is definitely a satisfactory cooling solution for 50 bucks.

It was all a very tidy installation too. Everything is self contained and enclosed in the chassis. I'll post pics when I get off of work.

I'm like Obi wan. I just pop in and out, offer vague comments and advice, and then tell you to use the force.

Have you hugged your PC today?

I was gonna say this thing looked like a great dedicated cooling solution for the R600 until I read the review...

when are they gonna learn?

we dont need sub 100$ wcing.... we need better cooling than custom wcing kits!

lets give these wcing companies a few decades to catch up with us

maybe by then they will realize.

(from what i know) the basics

powerful pump (alot of gpm and that pressure stuff cant remember the term)
well designed water block.
large well designed rad with alot of fans with high cfm
large diameter tubing!

personally i like to think. (hrm can you fit 4x-12x 120mm fans on your air cooling HS? (does it have XXX ammount of surface area like a giant rad?)

think of wcing as just a giant hs that is joined by water tubing (the tubing keeps the weight of the rad/fans off the mobo) because you cant have a like 5 pound HS on ur mobo can you

i really like the idea of wcing... but these companies arent giving peps a good impression....

i mean who is gonna spend 50$ to risk fryin ur pc with higher temps than good air?

give me 300+$ and il go wcing.... until then no thanks... not gonna risk it

[/end long boring post]
