This is very sad news for me I really hope that everything will be corrected and I still could not order PSU Support Mount - Merlin and Mercury kept putting it off, I thought I'd do it one of these days, and here ....

Damn, I was looking forward to Gemini and the horizontal GPU retrofit for the TH10A.

These cases just a heck of a lot more valuable now and that doesn't even make me feel any better

I'm saddened for CL and their former employees. And to a much lesser extent, it sucks that no one else seems to make a powder coated aluminum case with a horizontal mb tray. I followed them with much interest over the years, drooling over the S8. I'm glad I at least got a BH8 while I could.

As I recall, they mentioned the aluminum comes from overseas due to supposed poor availability on the west coast, claiming most USA stock winds up on the east coast. They also mentioned that after the tariffs the quality and availability was terrible. I can only guess that high demand drove up prices far beyond 25% in their local area.

Decent, yeah. But I always figured with the cost of manufacturing in the US and paying employees a decent wage, margins were not as high as we would think.

Presented without comment.

Meanwhile, very sad to hear this news about Caselabs. This leaves behind a mess: customers that have paid for products they will not receive. Ex-customers who no longer have a spares / parts facility. And employees and owners of Caselabs and their families that no longer have employment.

I understand that regional supply and quality issues means that Al prices have increased by 80% which sounds drastic considering that tarriffs where lower by a factor of 3. But CL also reintroduced various cases recently which suggests that they were using prepayments as working capital for their continued operations, despite having negative net assets. I dunno... I would love to hear the full story of what happened and how this collapsed one day. Their products were so good, and customer support (by this I mean goodwill from people ordering their products) was so high that it is weird for the company to fail like this.

Oh well, just when today was feeling better, I'm hit with this. Anyone know what exactly were the causes because tariffs alone wouldn't cause this if CL has hedged against such risk (they should be)?

you can hate on them all you want, They made it affordable for the masses, something case-labs could of done but chose not to, In the end I do not feel bad about having a steel rip off.
