It seems weird that they are pricing their main selling GPU for 350$. The 1060 was so popular because it was also relatively cheaper at 250$ for AIB versions (well, if you were able to get it for that price). So 100$ increase on their most popular GPU, might not make it a new most popular GPU.

Good that this happened, even though effective usefulness of all of this is very limited due to very limited amount of VRR displays actually working. G-sync is still relevant as a guarantee of quality of VRR implementation and has some other features like no input lag, though it is available only on some gamery crap with massive quality issues on picture quality side of things, so it is not all great either.
proof?

My asus would disagree with you

Wait so correct me if im wrong but freesync can be forced on in nvidia control panel starting with the next driver update? I know they said only 12 monitors are "certified" but say i get a gtx 1050ti and one of those 75hz freesync monitors for 100 bucks, i should still be able to get them to talk to each other?

Thats kinda big news for the budget market.

So finally... NV is allowing VRR to be on as a ADaptive Sync?

Does it also extend to HDMI 2.1? Sound like the holy grail monitor with HDMI 2.1 is coming (True 10 bits HDR, VRR, IPS [email protected])

yes but enthusiasts will have a new expensive variant of gsync and leave all the other to plebeians (thanks wordreference!) like me with the free technologies and their communist smell....

Seems like it is going with the Turing trend. Selling about 1070 perf for about 1070msrp.
1070-2060
1080-2070
1080ti-2080
Maybe the 1060 price will go to the 1060 perf 2050.

1.) A lot of people are confused. They're thinking they can run "freesync" OR "gsync" if they want when in reality it's all Variable refresh.
2.) I'm not sure why you'd buy an Nvidia card / monitor with gsync then want to move to a free sync monitor? Most of them have a smaller range which VRR is activated, and I'm sure gsyncs adaptation of freesync tech will abide.
3) when gsync is enabled or disabled, there's usually a blip/glitch/flash. Be prepared for some driver troubles if you ask me. I don't want to be on loading screens hitting low fps outside of what freesync uses, seeing all kinds of flashes and stuff. No thanks I'll pass till more people have attempted.

would the VRR implementation in NVIDIA drivers work with 3 Freesync monitors in Surround?Do you reckon?

thats my current set-up with 3 1080p screens driven by a 1080Ti and I was tossing the idea to move back to AMD if the VEGA2/NAVI announcement at the Keynote on wednesday was any good.

this move by NVIDIA could make me change my mind and stick with what I currently have
