[ASUS] Introducing the ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha and Rampage VI Extreme Omega motherboards

Quote:
Although the Alpha and Omega don’t reach the same level of extreme as the ROG Dominus, they’re cut from the same cloth—or in this case molded from the same aluminum. The ultra-high-end Dominus gave us the freedom to experiment with different manufacturing techniques, resulting in a beautiful aluminum cover. We realized that we could produce similar pieces for more attainable Rampage and Zenith boards. The anodized armor reinforces the boards’ premium undertones and ties the Extreme family together visually.

Looks like we finally got our motherboard updates from Asus for X299 and X399. Looks like we got slightly better VRM cooling with dual fans under the VRM shroud. Also, we lost a PCIe slot on the Omega versus the old Extreme.

And after seeing how a-ma-zing the original Zenith e"XXX"treme was, why, let us all buy the new one as well, right?

Albeit yes, am aware; by all means, free world and all.
(no offense to the news poster, this is my opinion on the item, not the posting; for that i thank you)

That rampage is a downgrade. Why they moved the power and reset button to that stupid location is beyond me.

Those names....

They are good looking boards, it will be interesting to see if they have actually improved anything once they get tested.

The names are more and more cringeworthy with every iteration. Who are they building these things for ?

Wonder if the X399 board actually is better than the $300 X399 Taichi or the X399M Taichi which is $280 let alone the MSI MEG Creation which is likely the same price.

Old Zenith Extreme was already over $500 and I doubt it is 2X better than a X399 Taichi in any form.

my zenith extreme x399's 5ghz wifi is wonky after 6 mos with driver update and no other changes, and the oled screen has half the pixels that don't lit up 100% and barely legible
had good experience with their mobos 10 years ago, people tell me their components are crap now and i didn't listen...how much did they ask for this garbage again? $400?

How does the AVIE Extreme Omega compare to the EVGA X299 Dark?

1. Fake 16 Phase VRM
2. Recycled Z390 Look
3. Reduced HEDT PCIE slots and orientation ? LOL
4. Very poor power and reset button placement? LOL
5. Cost cutting ftl!

Yeah been buying the rampage since 2011 and 2019 it's dead this is a regression this isn't a HEDT board anymore with proper pcie spacing and # of slots it's like they took the z390 design and slapped a 2066 socket on it and called it a day.
