Vega 64 was never meant to compete against the 1080 Ti and it doesn't. It was targeting the 1080, however with driver tweaks and AIB cards, it pulled ahead of the 1080 in some tests but still fell short in others. Theres a plethora of information on the internet to back this up or are you going to deny this?...

Secondly, driver optimisation has helped AMD in every previous generation in memory and I bet that it will happen again this time around.

Third, BF5 is not an AMD Exclusive or even AMD sponsored. Nvidia's logo is on that one.
In DX12, BF5 runs better on the Vega VII than a 2080 and trades blows with 2080 Ti, on a buggy driver. I'm not expecting it to smash the 2080 let alone 2080 Ti, but I am expecting it to get better than it currently is, across most if not all titles.
Only trades blows with RTX 2080 Ti at low resolutions in Battlefield V because the game is CPU bottlenecked.

It won't magically get better over time. I've had my Vega 64 since launch and old games still performed the same on release drivers as they do now. If anything it took us Vega 64 owners awhile to figure out the card performed better from undervolting than overclocking. Pretty much all AIB Vega 64 cards are worse than the Vega 64 reference.

Would like to see just 2018-2019 tested games at 4K.

I got a 1080 Ti and will most likely get this card and also have Vega 64 and 64 LC.

Cant wait to do some comparison. For me, Anthem performance is key for deciding which GPU I keep in my system.

Not a very rational fear, except in the very long term when Pascal will eventually be relegated to legacy status.

Something strange with PCPer's power draw results.

Well they sold out fast. So much for the supply being enough to meet the demand.

I'm happy for them if it did. Assuming its not scalpers. Not that it matters, they make a little money I hope. Wishing AMD the best so we can get these prices under control.

I have seen it before. They will just say RTX is pulling ahead because of Turing Shaders... As of right now if FP16 is not used than 1080 Ti should be on par with RTX 2080 but you will start to see games this year where that will not be the case. My 1080 Ti @ 2025/6000 crushes my Vega 64 but lately, the gap is getting close in some games. One example of this was Anthem. 1080 Ti was 10% faster @ 4K. In BF5 the same thing.

I'm a bit concerned about this 'junction temperature'. Is this graphite thermal pad reusable or do you need to replace it with a new one when installing an aftermarket coolers or waterblock? The card reviewed at Gamers Nexus got worse (read: throttling even) performance after replacing the pad with Kryonaut.

this can be a real downside for the card, said that someone does not change the heatspreader as his socks but it is common to have thermal pastes around the room but not thermal graphyte pads for now.... well, if you mount it again and put a good pressure you could re-use it hoping the air will stay out and not trapped in it....
