Anything over 1930Mhz (set in afterburner/wattman) even undervolted and my card will eventually bounce off of 110c. That is at a 4k gaming load. At 1440p I can not get it that hot and the junction temp will be in the 90s. For example my card will run 1950mhz around 1060-1080v (cant remember now) and it is stable but again when at 4K the card will go up to 110c at 80% fan speed. 80% fan speed is all I can take, even for testing. My card has a 1088 stock voltage btw.

I must find a way to cool this thing. Anything I can do with settings to keep cool above 1930mhz while I ponder a waterblock or doing the washer mod?
I don't use the washer mod, My card runs below 110c with voltage at 1070mV with the fan at auto and uses around 220-270w with 20% PL. With the fan at 100% my card's junction temperature is in the 80s. I'll also need a waterblock to run it at 2000Mhz since it hits 110c easily since it requires 1.2mV for my card.

I have reference 1080 Ti. I can run 2025MHz @ 1v as long as I keep temps under 58C. Once I go over I lose clock speed and stability. The performance difference is negligible so now I just do +150MHz OC and I get 1962-2037MHz in games at 4K.

There's an awful lot of that going around. Seems like less on the AMD side, but getting it doesn't seem easy. Big range on VII vs almost no range on the green side.

I wonder if the VII will be around for long enough to get "Polaris'd" into a real beast.

Yeah, as I speculated about earlier, RVII looks to be one of those rare cards (these days anyway) that really, REALLY benefits from water-cooling. I think going forward that anyone seriously considering this card should also simultaneously be considering a water block for it as well. It was sort of the same deal with the original Titan back when all the voltage unlocking BIOS's were coming out (and the modded AB). Only people under water were able to get to those coveted 1300-1400MHz clock speeds, but the benefit was well worth it (to me anyway) to go that extra mile to do so...

I would have expected AMD would not waste resources on further Vega tweaks with the next high end arch coming next year, however rumors are going around of a new GPU ID in benchmarks that is labelled as "vega 20" in linux kernel that trying vega64 but only has a supposed 1280 shader cores. Personally I think that is impossible for a arch tweak, so likely the cores are configured differently and there will end up being more than 1280. But the benchmark scores coming up do speak to yet another Vega tweak card coming. If the performance numbers are true, it very well could be the "polaris'd version"

Vega 20 was already launched in the new Macbook Pro it's a 14nm part.

Thats nice.
There are articles from the last few days about a new GPU hitting a few benchmarks with just an ID number. People first assumed it was Navi, but the ID number corresponds to Vega 20 in the Linux kernel. Here is one of them from someone who didnt yet connect the ID number to the one already in the linux kernel:
https://hothardware.com/news/amd-rad...chmarks-leaked

Also, the GPU in your link mentions Vega 12 everywhere in the database, rather than Vega 20.

to me looks like a vega 10 cutted to be a polaris, memory data are odd.....1200mhz 2400 effective and only 300 gb of bandwidth? is it a single hbm2 stack so?

So is the washer mod proven to work? Would it work for other video cards?
