Likely yet another features variation of the same die. Sure maybe they did multi die for some special customers with better graphics and eDRAM on that graphics die, who knows. Broadwell rehash, take 9900K disable iGPU and add an extra behemoth die with better graphics and eDRAM.

here's hoping that the C actually stands for cache like the 5 series processors. I'f so i think this might be my next processor, I have a lot of games i play that are heavily dependent on CPU IPC.

It could be an emergency response to Zen 2, with 128 MB of L4 cache, like the Broadwell-C CPUs, but I wonder if it would have the same effect considering the high-speed DDR4 available now, I'd say that it would have to be an upgraded version of the cache. Anyway, if they are scared of Zen 2, putting an L4 cache chip right next to a regular 9900K die on the package is the quickest way to respond. The power budget of the whole thing should stay the same since they are disabling the on-board GPU. 10nm isn't ready and transitioning Ice Lake to 14nm++ would probably take too long.

I do some work that responds well to huge caches, yet isn't embarrassingly parallel. So, this is the only Intel CPU I may seriously consider in the near future.

...rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual. -- Thomas Jefferson
