I'm trying to figure out what logical reason Intel could possible have to release this at the same price. I've only got two guesses;
1.) If it averages a slightly lower power draw.
2.) (More likely) Intel does not want to give consumers a reason to buy any chips without iGPUs because Intel wants people to get used to the idea of having them available in all their CPUs but at the same time they can't afford to throw away these chips. They know the only people who buy the unlocked CPUs are gamers and gamers wouldn't care about the iGPU so 100% of them would go for the cheaper model, and they don't want to start a trend of gamers buying chips without iGPUs… for some reason. They seem to be dedicated to the idea of all chips having iGPUs… except this one.
