[TPU]Corsair K83 HTPC wireless keyboard

I am really looking forward to getting this keyboard. I have been using a tired KB & Mouse.

Lately, CORSAIR has been releasing new keyboards like there is no tomorrow, be it with MK.2 updates to the STRAFE and K70 or just new wireless keyboards as we saw last year with their K63 Wireless. The latter was their very first wireless mechanical keyboard, no doubt one of many to come. Since then, many others have come up, with 2.4 GHz and/or Bluetooth-enabled wireless mechanical keyboards targeted at general hybrid gaming and living room use cases. Today, we take a look at the CORSAIR K83 Wireless, a keyboard designed solely for the living room. Thanks again to CORSAIR for sending us a review sample.

Seems expensive (relative to something like the ~$20 logitechs [which really only lack backlighting]). The circular track-pad is really strange, but I like the joystick. May eventually try to pick one up on sale at some point.

Wow, I actually can't think of the last time my interest was piqued this much by a keyboard. Honestly might be for the Logitech G15 back in 2007/2008 timeframe. This honestly looks like exactly what I'd want for the PC I use in my bedroom, now the question of if I'm too cheap to pull the trigger. Likely waiting for sales, but I like the design a lot.

This couldn't have come along at a better time. I recently had a fairly immature moment with the wireless keyboard I was using for my tv and now I need a new one. I will no longer buy cheap wireless input devices, they really aren't worth the frustration.

Seems like a nice premium alternative to the cheap feeling but venerable Logitech k400r.

Then again, that's what I said about that one Saitek HTPC keyboard that I can't remember the name of anymore, and that turned out to be a nice looking turd.

The finishing of this keyboard is quite nice I must say!
Don't know about the circular track-pad though.

It can look great but does it work. I have a Logitech which I think uses Bluetooth and it gets frustrating pretty quick. When the cursor starts skipping around.

I've come to the point where anything more that just opening a quick browser or something on my Htpc and I go into my office and RDP into the machine.

The one I recently smashed was bluetooth, handy for sound but terrible for input devices. I'm hoping that the 2.4ghz wireless option on this one will solve the problems that bluetooth brings. It's nice that it still has bluetooth on board for connecting to a streaming device, I don't use one on my FireTV regularly but it's nice to connect one for account setups.

Time will tell if it's crap, but I'm willing to let go of a c-note to find out.
