This isn't news, it's a comment.

Not really news more common sense then anything
Nvidia is in a lot of trouble. Why you think they spent ALL of their money on Mellanox. Cloud, and integrated graphics are really encroaching on Nvidia. Why do you think they are pushing RTX? Because shader graphics have reached their peak, resolution scaling isn't providing much better experiences and ray tracing is a GPU hog that will justify upgrading your GPU for something new.

nVidia is in trouble? Integrated GPUs encroaching on nVidia? GPUs aren't just used to display an image on a display anymore. Seems like every other company is playing catch up with nVidia. Why do you think Intel dropped the Xeon Phi and started working on dGPUs? Why did AMD invest in developing ROCm?

CUDA is pretty much the standard for AI and scientific computing. They pushed AI in 2012 and continue to due so with their release of their Tensor cores. With the acquisition of Mellanox they can create a quick connection between nodes. Most likely for their DGX servers.

Methinks that mister CEO is worried he won't be CEO in short order. I mean, why else would he make such claims?

Because he was asked when their 7nm GPUs will be released. His response was why should they release new 7nm GPUs when their current 12nm chips are more efficient than their competition. If they wanted to they could release a better GPU at any time.

Geforce sales are tanking but Nvidia could just up and release even better products than the 20/16 series whenever they want. Uh huh.

I just want smaller cards. low profile and single slot options. A 1650? or 1640? Something faster then a 1050.

How about a 1660 katana palit?

1650 1-slot edition INNO3D?

Nvidia is, however, rumoured to have signed on as a launch partner for Samsung’s 7nm EUV process, alongside IBM. These parts are expected to start sampling late this year and launch in 2020.

This is the interesting part. As I suspected, they are jumping 7nm and going straight to 7nm EUV for better gains. See you in 2020 with cards with a proper amount of RTX cores, Nvidia!
